Zbigniew Karkowski
Zbigniew Karkowski was born in 1958 in Krakow, Poland. He studied composition at the State College of Music in Gothenburg, Sweden, aesthetics of modern music at the University of Gothenburg’s Department of Musicology, and computer music at the Chalmers University of Technology. After completing his studies in Sweden, he studied sonology for a year at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Den Haag, Netherlands. During his education, he also attended many summer composition master courses arranged by Centre Acanthes in Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, France, studying with Iannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Georges Aperghis, among others. He works actively as a composer of both acoustic and electroacoustic music. He has written pieces for large orchestra (commissioned and performed by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra), plus an opera and several chamber music pieces that were performed by professional ensembles in Sweden, Poland, and Germany. He is a founding member of the electroacoustic music performance trio “Sensorband“. Zbigniew has lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan for the past eight years, and is active in the underground noise scene there.

Antoine Chessex
Antoine Chessex is a swiss saxophone player, improviser, composer and experimental musician born in 1980 in Vevey (CH). His works are based on the exploration of the physicality of sounds and spaces. Nowadays Chessex plays mostly as a solo performer appearing either in fully acoustic settings where his circular breathing textures react with the sonic architecture of the space he is performing in or amplifying his horn with amps or PA systems and electronic devices often resulting in intense live actions. His solo performances are experiences in total immersion in sound. In addition to regular international touring as a solo performer, Chessex has also been playing with the band MONNO (Conspiracy records) and collaborating with different musicians like Thomas Ankersmit, Lasse Marhaug, Zbigniew Karkowski, C. Spencer Yeh, Chris Corsano, Axel Dörner, Mattin, Dave Phillips, Hans Koch, Kasper T. Toeplitz, Christian Weber, Clayton Thomas, Matthew Bower, architect Christian Waldvogel (Globus Cassus) and media artist Ulrike Gabriel (flow 2002-2003).

Mudboy
Mudboy is an experimental musician in Providence, Rhode Island. Mudboy began recording experimental noise and electronic organ music in 2000 while a resident of Fort Thunder and continues to do so today. Over a dozen albums have been released on a variety of labels since that time. His compositions have been related to early minimalists such as Terry Riley, though he has identified dub music as an important influence in interviews. As an installation artist, Mudboy builds mysterious landscapes that hearken back to the ambient noise-filled landscapes which fill his music. A residency at the art and book store in Los Angeles “Family” produced “a large-scale, touch-sensitive, dark-activated, 3-dimensional, 6-oscillator spellcasting diorama and crystal cave. This installation is a meditation on the potential of fractal topography, fungal biota, and the productive necessity of decay.” Other installations in Baltimore, Chicago, and Providence also use darkness, micro LED lights, kaleidoscopic mirrors, fog machines and organic cardboard creations to create illusions.

Sons of Bronson
